We asked many people about it, especially in our Facebook page messages, and every time we had to repeat the explanation to our friends, so we decided to provide you with an article explaining the process of this method from the beginning to the end. Social media platforms, especially Facebook, reduce the images that are uploaded on the platform, so that even if the image appears in high quality on your computer in another image platform (such as Google pictures or other sites), while uploading it to Facebook and other social sites, the image loses its quality a lot and It is distorted a lot, especially if you want to upload the image to Facebook using your smartphone. In this simple and light explanation, we will provide you with a set of steps that you must follow in order to upload a high-quality image on the Facebook platform and even other platforms that reduce the quality of the image during uploading, and it is advised to follow these methods one by one in order to obtain satisfactory results.

The first step: enable the option to upload high-quality images:

Many do not know it, but in fact Facebook automatically selects the option to upload poor quality images in your Facebook account, and that is due to the sake of preserving your Internet package (perhaps), but the side effects of this option is to upload poor quality images in your account, so First things first, activate the option to upload images in high resolution via your Facebook account, to do so follow the following path on the smartphone (not the computer):Log in to your account -> then go to Settings -> Search for Media and Connectivity or Media and Contacts -> You will find many features, including Upload Photos in HD and Upload Videos in HD, enable them. In this way, you will tell Facebook that any image that you want to upload now from the mobile must be uploaded with high quality instead of reducing its quality, it has a great impact on the pictures you upload to Facebook through the mobile, and a good effect on the pictures and videos that you publish on Facebook from the computer.

Second Step: Extract your photos in PNG format:

There are many formats for images, the most famous of which are Png, Jpg and Gif. In a previous article we explained the most important differences between these formats . The format of jpeg or jpg is very useful for websites and the web as their size is very light, and the reason Due to the lowering of the quality of its images, when you download an image from Facebook itself, you upload it in jpg format because the site automatically converts it to this format, which makes it poor in terms of quality. The trick here is to extract the images in PNG format, this format has many advantages, the most important of which is preserving the quality and accuracy of the images after extracting them, the png images are somewhat large in size and may consume the Internet during the upload, but it guarantees you the quality during the upload. So if you want to get high quality, try to extract your images in PNG format (or png-24 in case you are using design software).

Third Step: Increase the dpi and image dimensions:

Here we will devote the discussion on design software, and more precisely, Adobe Photoshop software, as it is used by many designers today, before starting to design (or even after designing), make sure of 3 important elements in order to obtain high quality in images while uploading them to Facebook:

  • Check the dimensions of the image: the larger the image dimensions, the better its resolution while posting it on Facebook. Using dimensions such as 300×300, for example, or others may make Facebook enlarge it and thus lose its quality. Pictures with a resolution such as 2000×2000 may be somewhat large, but it will maintain its quality during Publish it on social media platforms.
  • Enlarge the dpi value: the dpi, which is an abbreviation for the term dot per inch, Facebook uses the pixel instead of the dot, but the matter is the same, and it is concerned with the number of pixels per inch. If the number of pixels is weak, the image appears wavy or blurred (as if I took a small image and enlarged it very much in Photoshop) but the larger the number of pixels, the more accurate and clear the image, you will notice that increasing the dpi leads to an increase in the image size and it may reach up to 5MB or more. In order to increase the dpi in Photoshop, click on Ctrl + Alt + I A window will pop up, go to the Resolution option, and you will find a specific value in front of it, Pixel / inch, the lowest resolution should be 72dpi, there is no limited resolution, but it is preferable to save it with a value that does not exceed 300dpi.
  • Then finally, make sure to save the image correctly. I do not know how to save the image, but the correct way is to export the image by clicking Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S, a large window will appear for you, choose the png-24 format (as mentioned above) Then save the image.

Your following these three tips in Photoshop software will make the image resolution very high (and its size is also large, but there is no problem as long as you will upload it to Facebook or other platforms and you will not use it to your advantage on the web or your site). In this way, you will now be able to publish any of your photos on Facebook and it will be uploaded with high accuracy or at least acceptable quality and significantly better than before.
